What Newbury Park Housing Means for Your Cabinets
most original Newbury Park construction runs from the 1970s through the 1990s, while Dos Vientos is a master-planned community of roughly 2,350 approved units built mostly in the late 1990s and 2000s. In practice outside Dos Vientos the homes are commonly 30 to 50 years old on larger established lots with no Mello-Roos, and they tend to carry closed 1970s floor plans.
That range matters because the right cabinet answer is not the same in
each of them. A house whose boxes are solid and whose doors are simply dated
wants refacing or refinishing. A house whose particleboard boxes have taken
water under the sink wants replacement. We look at what you already have
before recommending anything, which is why the estimate itemizes box
construction, doors, finish and hardware as separate lines rather than
presenting one number.
Newbury Park is inland against the Santa Monica Mountains, with hot dry summers and Santa Ana wind exposure. Salt corrosion is not the governing concern at this distance from the water, so that part of the budget goes into box material, hardware grade and a catalyzed finish instead.
We cover Dos Vientos, the Borchard Road corridor, Casa Conejo and Rancho Conejo and the surrounding areas.
